One of the greatest tragedies in american history was the myth that america could flourish without blacks flourishing as persons. Do we as a society actually need a body cam video to be outraged? Why isn't black lives matter protesting these tragedies? Saying all lives matter in response would suggest to them that all people are in equal danger, invalidating the specific concerns of black people. Those in the black lives matter movement say black people are in immediate danger and need immediate attention, like the broken bone or house on fire. They matter because they are children, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers.
